Big White

I work with a Ukranian woman, called Olga. We set off for a weekend at Big White, about five hours drive into the interior and supposedly, according to Canadians, the best snow.

Well they were absolutely right. I've never been anywhere like it. Light, puffy, cotton-candy snow, mountains as far as the eye can see, no queues and a whole lot of of Australians. An Aussie bought Big White and another neighbouring mountain for a paltry 7 million or so each a few years ago. He's turned them into great resort towns and recruits loads of Aussies to work there every season.

We had an enormous hotel room that looked down into the snow covered village. It was so peaceful.
