The money tree strikes again
I was walking down the street with a guy called Jonathan who'd just arrived from NZ. He stopped and picked up $40...that he just saw on the footpath. So now the money tree has dropped $70! I LOVE money trees!!

The birthday stash
Hello everyone
Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes. Quite overwhelming!
I thought you might like to see me on my birthday with the pressie line up. This is just from Pies and my Vancouver friends....there are still some pressies and cards to come!
So far I've had a lovely day. It's gloriously sunny and we had a scrummy brunch in a cafe that wasn't even close to looking like a Starbucks...woohoo!
Jono and Julie came for a sleepover last night. There is a huge national football final in Vancouver this weekend which involves a four day/night street party on my street. My neighbours must be into it because at 2.30am they decided to start shouting and slamming doors! For an hour! My home feels like a dorm.

The Money Tree
Luck was looking my way today. The sun is shining and I found a $20 note on the footpath. Actually, last week I found at $10 note as well. There must be a money tree around here and the leaves are falling off because it's winter.
Here are a few pics for you. On one of the 2 1/2 non-rainy days I've had.
I'll send some of my apt now. My windows need a clean.
We found the racoon when we hired bikes and cycled around Stanley Park...proof that advertising lies and you can take a shaky picture with a Panasonic Lumix!!
xxxx love you all

Sez and the City
Yesterday, I accidently locked myself in the bathroom. My phone was on the other side of the door. My apartment was locked. And I thought, shit, what if I can't get out...no-one will even know I'm missing. No-one in NZ has my address yet. No-one I know in Vancouver even has it. There was nothing in the bathroom to use to break the door down. I thought I was going to starve to death there - wrapped in my towel. I was wondering how to arrange myself so that when, finally, someone discovered my decomposing body...they wouldn't see my thighs!
In light of that close brush with death (the situation resolved itself with lots of handle wiggling), I've decided to let EVERYONE know my contact details. If you ring, write or email and never hear back I'm either crap at responding or locked in the loo again.
Vancouver is pretty. On a good day. Of which I've had one since I've been here. On every other day it rains, so Vancouver life consists of wet feet and a brollie permanently attached to your wrist.
I'm in love with my little apartment which is hideously expensive and ridiculously small, but perfect.
My recruitment agent gets back from her holiday tomorrow so we will begin the job hunt.
